{"id":402,"date":"2013-04-12T18:01:24","date_gmt":"2013-04-12T18:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/retroramblings.net\/?p=402"},"modified":"2013-04-12T19:39:11","modified_gmt":"2013-04-12T19:39:11","slug":"lest-i-be-thought-a-hypocrite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/retroramblings.net\/?p=402","title":{"rendered":"Lest I be thought a hypocrite&#8230;!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have a confession to make!<\/p>\n<p>After my post about video game music and references &#8211; deliberate or otherwise &#8211; to pop music of the day, I remembered my old <a href=\"http:\/\/retroramblings.net\/?p=10\">AMRWolf project<\/a> and the ProTracker module I wrote to serve as its title music:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zZuZVm0vOmk\" height=\"315\" width=\"420\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Wow &#8211; does that say *1996*?\u00a0 Now I feel old!\u00a0 Anyhow, bonus points to anyone who can identify the piece of 80s pop music that inspired the backing track&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The module itself, in case anyone&#8217;s interested,<a href=\"http:\/\/retroramblings.net\/downloads\/untitled2.mod\"> can be found here<\/a>.\u00a0 (Yes, imaginatively titled &#8220;Untitled2&#8221;.\u00a0 I could occasionally come up with music tracks that were worth not deleting on the spot, but I never could come up with decent names for them!\u00a0 I still can&#8217;t, for the very occasional pieces I come up with these days &#8211; &#8220;Ode to a Girl who Works in Lidl&#8221; *really* doesn&#8217;t cut it!)<\/p>\n<p>The sampled breaks were themselves created in ProTracker, then rendered down to a single sample to squeeze as much from the 4-channel sound chip as possible.\u00a0 Sadly I don&#8217;t have the source tracks any more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a confession to make!
